Panther football player dies

The Siloam Springs community was stunned Monday by the death of junior Cody Noble, a wide receiver on the Panthers football team. “It’s obviously a shock to our community and school,” Siloam Athletic Director Kerwin Dees said. “Pretty awful news to the community.” Siloam canceled its junior varsity football game Monday night against Springdale Har-Ber.

50 years Ago From the Herald and Democrat in 1959 The Siloam Springs Panthers handed the Harrison Goblins 25-12 defeat, as a rather small crowd watched in an intermittent drizzle throughout most of the evening. Officials kept changing footballs to keep a dry pigskin in the game.
