— Golf tourney a success

The annual Lyle Licht Golf Tournament benefitting the SSHS Golf Teams was held recently at the Siloam Springs Country Club.

The tournament was a scramble format with members of the golf team assigned to help each of the teams.

The winning team with a score of 57 included Robert and Wes Pigeon and ChrisWalker with Matt Couey from the golf team. In second place with a score of 59 were P.D.

Rakestraw and David Ray with Emery Rakestraw and Skylar Ray from the golf team.

In third place with a score of 61 were Jim Snodgrass and Ross Kelley, aided by three members of the golf team: Michael Kelley, Andrew Snodgrass and Jake Onnen.

The tournament could not have been a success without all the sponsors. Corporate sponsors including Allen Canning, Arvest Bank, Liberty Bank and Signature Bank. Hole sponsors were Bank of Siloam Springs, Simmons First Bank, Bell’s Office Supply, Richard’s Tire and Service, Gene and Judy Omo, Bart and Joann Harris, and Robert and Wanda Pigeon. Prize sponsors included Kenny’s Auto Service, Hampton Inn, Mazzio’s Pizza, G & S Shoes, Saf-T-Store, SSCC Golf Shop, Melvin Byers and Coach Robertson.

Food and snacks were supplied by IGA Foods and McKee Foods.

Mike McGooden provided the food preparation.

The turnout was great, the weather was fine and the pace of play was surprisingly quick. The only possible negative about the day was that there was no TV coverage and replay of the hole-in-one made by Wes Pigeon on the 16th hole.

Congratulations to all.
