Ladies Golden Eagles gets 2 wins

— The JBU women’s volleyball team picked up two wins after defeating St. Gregory’s (Okla.) and Texas Wesleyan at home on Saturday.

The wins move the ladies to 20-8 on the year and 5-4 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Against conference foe SGU (2-16), JBU quickly took care of business winning in three, 25-17, 25-16, 25-20.

Christi Newton paced the Golden Eagles with 11 kills followed by Kirsten Lee with nine and Erin Didier and Amber Wilson with eight each. Alyssa Hanson had 19 assists and Britney Kerns added 17.

Didier also had three service aces.

Shannon Proctor picked up 10 digs on the defensive end.

In non-conference action, JBU cruised by TWU (12-14) in three sets, winning 25-16, 25-16, 25-21. Wilson continued her hot hitting by picking up 11 kills followed by Didier with eight.

Hanson and Kerns had 17 and 15 assists respectively.

And Proctor collected 16 digs while Newton posted four blocks.
