SILOAM SPRINGS The Siloam Springs Panthers fought hard to defeat the Greenwood Bulldogs on Friday, but at the end of the showdown, it was Greenwood that would gain the win. Head coach Bryan Ross is hoping his Panthers can buckle down and prepare for Alma this week on senior night.
Siloam walked away from the Greenwood game with another loss, 56-18. This now makes thePanthers 3-5.
“We’re not necessarily bad, we’re just playing some really good teams,” Ross said.
The Panthers managed to stay pretty even with the Bulldogs, but Ross said it was in the final quarter when things started to go wrong.
“The kids put up a hard fight, we just made a couple of turnovers towards the end, and that costs us.”
Quarterback Bryan Adair threw for 16 completions out of35 attempted totaling for 133 yards. Siloam also managed to throw four interceptions that night, giving Alma the edge.
This week will mark the last home game the Siloam Springs Panthers will play for the season and Ross is determined to have his team play their heart out.
The Alma Airedales will travel to Siloam this week and head coach Todd Dilbeck is looking for victory as well.
The Airedales pulled a 32-17 win over Harrison last week, making them 4-3-1. Alma is ranked No. 3 in the west and number 11 in the 5A. Though Siloam is only ranked at No. 7 in the west, and 22 in the 5A, Ross isn’t going to let rankings deter his Panthers. He believes that Adair and the rest of the team can play hard when they are mentally focused. He just hopes they get it under control before Friday.
“No matter what, as long as try and do good, good things will always come,” Ross added.
