SILOAM SPRINGS Geraldine Bettie Hays, 79, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Sept. 19, 2009, at The Maples at Har-Ber Meadows.
She was born Aug. 2, 1930, in Hanson, Okla., to Wofford and Ethel Farrer White.
She married Amos Hays on May 28, 1950, in Yuma, Ariz.
She was a senior account supervisor for the Department of General Services in California for 10 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and First Assembly of God Church in Siloam Springs where she volunteered in the office and worked in the senior adult ministry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a grandson, Christopher Meador.
She is survived by three daughters, Deena Jeffrey and husband Kenneth of North Highlands, Calif., Linda Moea'i and husband Tafila of Kansas City, Kan., and Cindy Hoyt of Siloam Springs; six grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Sandvos of Coalinga, Calif.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sept. 24, 2009, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 25, 2009, at First Assembly Of God
Church in Siloam Springs,
with the Rev. Gary Wheat of
ficiating.
Burial will be at noon Sept.
25, 2009, at Fayetteville Na
tional Cemetery in Fayet
teville, Ark.

The Rev. Elmer "Gene"
Jones, 79, of Springdale, Ark.,
formerly of Bernice, Okla.,
died Sept. 20, 2009, at Spring
dale Health and Rehabilita
tion Center.
He was born Feb. 26, 1930,
in Caney, Kan., to Verle and
Hazel White Jones.
He was a minister for more
than 56 years, pastoring in
Colcord, Okla.; Salina, Okla.;
Siloam Springs, Ark.; and
Union Community Church
in Bernice.
He is survived by a daugh
ter, Charla Weeks and hus
band George of Gentry, Ark.;
two sons, Earl Jones and wife
Rhonda of Siloam Springs,
and Eddie Jones and wife Di
ane of West Siloam Springs,
Okla.; a brother, Charles Jones
of Pine Island, Fla.; nine
grandchildren; and 15 great
grandchildren.
Graveside services will be
held at 2 p.m. Sept. 23, at
G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami,
Okla., with Roland Adcock
officiating.

Cheryl Amelia "Sherry" McJunkin
Cheryl Amelia "Sherry" McJunkin, 47, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Sept. 19, 2009, at her home.
She was born Feb. 2, 1962, in Newark, N.Y., to Paul Clingerman Sr. and Dorothy Gould Cochran.
Prior to moving to the Siloam Springs area, she lived in Charleston, S.C. She was a housekeeper and enjoyed traveling. She married William "Wilbur" McJunkin, on April 26, 2007.
She is survived by her husband of the home; two sons,Brad McAllan and Robi McAllan, both of the home; her mother, Dorothy Cochranand stepfather Giles Cochran of Siloam Springs; two brothers, Paul Clingerman Jr. and wife Char of Farmington, N.Y., and Wes Clingerman and wife Anita of Wahiawa, Hawaii; and two sisters, Annette Freeman and husband Robert of Springdale, Ark., and Yvonne Temple and husband Tim of Siloam Springs.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 24, 2009, at Wasson Memorial Chapelin Siloam Springs with Larry Ellis officiating.
Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery in West Siloam Springs, Okla.
